Today, Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez issued an Emergency Order that provides guidelines for opening summer camps and youth activities and a process for the eventual re-opening of “movie theaters, concert houses, auditoriums and playhouses.” Please note that under these rules, summer camps are authorized to re-open, effective Monday, June 8.
Now more than ever, it is important to review your hurricane preparedness plan to a adapt quickly to a weather emergency. We know how difficult it is to focus on one more impending threat to our well-being, but we are here to help!

The total financial impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on nonprofit arts and cultural organizations is now estimated at $43 million with 5,377 arts and cultural jobs affected, based on aggregate data from the monthly COVID-19 Survey of Impact on Miami-Dade County's Cultural Community, conducted by the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs.
Here are the combined results of the survey of non-profit arts and cultural organizations substantiating the COVID-19 financial and job losses and the breakdown for the months of March and April.

This week, Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos Gimenez authorized the limited re-opening of parts of the County’s economy. I am proud to report that Mayor Gimenez has included a section of strict guidelines for Arts & Culture – only permitting the opening of museums and public gardens, if and when they are ready.
