Coconut Grove Playhouse Update

There was no litigation filed by the City of Miami regarding the Coconut Grove Playhouse by the Third Court of Appeals-extended deadline of June 6, 2022. Consequently, the Court’s ruling in favor of Miami-Dade County is the final action and provides the go ahead for work to begin on the construction phase of the Playhouse project.

The next steps include finalizing the permit with the City of Miami to begin work necessary for the existing building.

This ruling upholds the City of Miami Commission’s support of the County’s Coconut Grove Playhouse application to the City’s Historic and Environmental Preservation Board for a Certificate of Appropriateness.
