Miami Emerging Arts Leaders: Art Places in Black Spaces

How does architecture help build community? How can a sense of place support civic dialogue and cultural unity? Join us for a conversation on the renovation of cultural centers in historically Black neighborhoods, featuring leaders from three Miami-Dade County landmark cultural institutions: the African Heritage Cultural Arts Center; the Historic Hampton House and the Historic Lyric Theater.

First-ever Miami-Dade County Mayor’s Legacy in Arts Award recognizes a cultural leader at the 2024 Serving the Arts Awards ceremony

On Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at 9:30 a.m., the 2024 Serving the Arts Awards will be held at the Miami-Dade County Auditorium, 2901 West Flagler Street. The awards ceremony will celebrate 27 cultural leaders and organizations for their continued commitment to advancing arts and culture in Miami-Dade County. This year, the inaugural Miami-Dade County Mayor’s Legacy in Arts Award Honoree is cultural leader Rosie Gordon-Wallace, President and Curator of the Diaspora Vibe Cultural Arts Incubator.

Miami Emerging Arts Leaders: Arts in Health and Wellness

More and more, the health industry is integrating the arts, including performing and visual arts and design, into a wide variety of healthcare and community settings for therapeutic, educational, and expressive purposes. Join the Miami Emerging Arts Leaders and field experts for a panel discussion exploring the arts and health landscape and how organizations like Jackson Health and Baptist Health South Florida are incorporating the arts in both their therapeutic and medical practices as well as their state-of-the-art facilities.  

Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs Announces Cultural Grants Program Deadlines for Individual Artists

The Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs is pleased to announce the deadline schedule of programs available to Miami-Dade based individual artists. Guidelines containing information regarding eligibility requirements, funding requests and program criteria can be downloaded at  www.miamidadearts.org  by clicking GRANTS / GRANTS FOR ARTISTS. Grant guidelines can also be requested by calling the Department of Cultural Affairs at (305) 375-4634, or via email at  culture@miamidade.gov.
