This week, the Board of County Commissioners will take the final vote on my proposed budget. I want to thank everyone who came out to the first hearing to make their voices heard, and our dedicated county staff working behind the scenes to put together this budget and engage our community. Community Grants Program (CG)

A quarterly program for nonprofit organizations developing small and large-scale community-based cultural programs (dance, theater, music, visual arts), as well as projects and events, such as fairs, parades, neighborhood festivals and publications that have a strong artistic component.
The program funds projects with strong community involvement and/or outreach component. The Community Grants (CG) Program is particularly sensitive to the needs of indigenous cultural neighborhood activities and projects encouraging the preservation of heritage, traditions and culture, as well as social service organizations and cultural groups developing collaborative intervention projects using the arts.

Tourist Development Grants Program (TDC)

The Tourist Development Council grants program provides support to nonprofit and for-profit organizations presenting significant cultural or special events, including sports activities and television and film origination projects that promote Miami-Dade County’s appeal as a tourist destination.

Youth Arts Program

Summer Arts and Science Camps for Kids Grants Program (SAS-C)

This annual program helps non-profit organizations provide underserved children in Miami-Dade County with opportunities to attend high quality cultural arts and science summer camp programs at little or no cost. Funding is intended to supplement established, high-quality programs, providing more children with the opportunity to participate in cultural arts and science summer camps.

Please note the guidelines for the SAS-C Grant Program will be released September 15, 2024.

Funding Arts Network Grant Workshop

Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at 10:00 AM on Zoom

The Funding Arts Network grant workshop will be held via Zoom and provide an overview of the 2025-2026 grant process with several changes including the addition of a Community Impact Grant.  Register in advance by sending your name, organization and email to vpgrants@fundingartsnetwork.org or on the website at www.fundingartsnetwork.org.

Deadline: STEP 1 Application is due on Wednesday, October 23, 2024

FUNDING FOR INDIVIDUAL ARTISTS

Artist Access (ART) Grants Program

Fall / Winter Cycle- Funded by Miami-Dade County and in partnership with FUNDarte, the Artist Access Grant Program is designed to assist practicing, professional artists in any medium or discipline residing in Miami-Dade County pursue opportunities that will advance their practice and careers in demonstrable ways.
Eligible opportunities include artistic professional development and skill-building opportunities such as specialized workshops, artist residencies, technique classes with master artists, conferences, teaching artist training, arts leadership training and other non-credit artistic learning opportunities (in person or virtual). Applicants must demonstrate how the potential, timeliness, and impact of the opportunities will forward the artist’s career.

Eligibility: Open to professional visual artists based in south Florida

Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs through its Art in Public Places Program requests qualifications from professional artists to commission public art for two Miami-Dade County Department of Public Housing and Community Development projects. Click here for details.

Ronald McDonald House at Jackson Memorial Hospital

Budget: $210,000
Eligibility: Open to professional visual artists based in south Florida

2024 SFCC Fellowship Deadline & Application

Deadline Tuesday, October 1, 2024, 11:59 PM

The South Florida Cultural Consortium, an alliance of the arts councils of Broward, Martin, Miami-Dade, Monroe and Palm Beach Counties grants visual and media artists with awards at either the $15,000 or $7,500 level. These awards are among the largest such honors accorded by local arts agencies to visual and media artists in the United States. Established 1988, the SFCC has awarded over $4 million in grants to more than 300 artists. In addition to receiving the grant, the artists take part in an exhibition hosted and organized by a visual arts institution in one of the five counties.
