Miami Emerging Arts Leaders - Build, Strive, Thrive: Learn How The Beacon Council and Strive305 Initiative Can Expand Organizational Capacity

Join the Miami Emerging Arts Leaders for an informative session exploring how The Beacon Council and Miami-Dade County’s Strive305 initiative support Miami-Dade’s cultural sector. Discover valuable tools, business resources, and capacity-building programs available through the Strive305 Hub, an essential lifeline for local entrepreneurs and small business owners. This event will highlight pathways for cultural organizations to strengthen operations, grow sustainably, and thrive in an increasingly evolving cultural landscape.

As we celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Miami Emerging Arts Leaders, we are pleased to offer opportunities for new and emerging arts professionals to connect with peers and learn more about the vibrant cultural community in Miami-Dade County.

Tourist Development Grants Program (TDC)

A quarterly program which provides support to significant cultural and/or special events, including sports activities and television/film origination projects that promote Miami-Dade County’s appeal as a tourist destination. Activities must be able to stimulate tourism and have significant media impact for Miami-Dade County.

Youth Arts Program

Summer Arts & Science Camps for Kids (SAS-C) Grants Program

A joint initiative of the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs and The Children’s Trust. Grant funding to nonprofit organizations to provide underserved children in Miami-Dade County with opportunities to attend high quality cultural arts and science summer camp programs at little or no cost.  Funding through the SAS-C Grants Program is intended to augment established, high quality programs, providing more children with the opportunity to participate in cultural arts and science summer camps.

Art in Public Places

Call to Artists: Miami Cold Chain
REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS DEADLINE:Tuesday, November 18, 2025, 11:59PM

ELIGIBILITY: Open to professional visual artists based in the USA.
BUDGET: $1,075,000.

Multiple commissions envisioned.
Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs through its Art in Public Places Program, Miami-Dade Aviation Department, and Miami-Dade County Seaport request qualifications for artists to be considered to make full proposals for artworks for the new Miami Cold Chain facility. The selected artist(s) will develop proposals for unique artworks that will contribute to the identity of the facility and engage employees, visitors and passers-by in unexpected and delightful ways. Each shortlisted artist will receive a proposal honorarium and support to develop a proposal.

  • Southern Prize & State Fellowships for Visual Arts
    Deadline: Wednesday, December 10, 2025
    Nine state fellows will each receive $5,000, with one finalist awarded $10,000 and one Southern Prize winner receiving $25,000.
  • Southern Prize & State Fellowships for Literary Arts
    Deadline: Wednesday, December 10, 2025
    This year’s focus: screenwriting and playwriting. Fellows and prizewinners will receive the same awards as above.
  • Literary Arts Grants
    Deadline: Wednesday, November 19, 2025
    Grants up to $5,000 for poets, fiction and nonfiction writers, publishers, and literary nonprofits to advance new work and reach new audiences.
