The Westchester Cultural Arts Center, a new cultural facility to be built within Tropical Park, 7900 SW 40 Street. This new cultural center is pioneered by Senator Javier D. Souto, Miami-Dade County Commissioner for District 10, who has championed the need for a state-of-the-art cultural center to serve the families and children principally in the western region of Miami-Dade County. 

Groundbreaking ceremony for the Westchester Cultural Arts Center

A groundbreaking ceremony will be held by Miami-Dade County Commissioner Javier D. Souto, District 10, the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs and the Miami-Dade Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department at the site of the Westchester Cultural Arts Center at the main entrance of Tropical Park, 7900 SW 40th Street, Miami, FL 33155 on Friday, June 26, 2020 at 11 a.m. EST

Project Information

Funded by the voter-approved Building Better Communities General Obligation Bond program, the Westchester Cultural Arts Center will provide cultural programming and instruction focusing on Hispanic arts and culture. The Center was designed by Zyscovich Architects and features 11,000 square feet of new construction, including a main theater building with its supporting spaces and a lobby area which will serve as an art gallery. The state-of-the-art cultural center is being built by TGSV Enterprises, Inc., a construction company selected through a competitive process. The Center will offer exciting new cultural and recreational programs in one of the County’s most popular recreational resources and principally serve the families and children in the western region of Miami-Dade County.
