SFCC Program for Visual and Media Artists Deadline and Updates

Dear Cultural Colleagues,

 

Please note the following important changes to the application process for the 2017 South Florida Cultural Consortium (SFCC) Program for Visual and Media Artists as well as updates from the Miami-Dade Art in Public Places Program.

  

2017 South Florida Cultural Consortium (SFCC) Program for Visual and Media Artists

APPLICATION DEADLINE: Monday, October 31, 2016 11:59 PM

Applications for the 2017 South Florida Cultural Consortium Program for Visual and Media Artists (SFCC) will be available as of Thursday, September 15, 2016. A partnership among the local arts agencies of Broward, Martin, Miami-Dade, Monroe and Palm Beach counties, the SFCC’s Program provides financial awards to recognize and support the artistic development of eligible visual and media artists who reside in one of these counties.

 

NEW ONLINE APPLICATION SYSTEM: SUBMITTABLE

Beginning this year, applications to the 2017 SFCC Program for Visual and Media Artists will be submitted through a new online application system, Submittable. Applications will no longer be accepted through the CaFÉ™ system.

 

HOW TO APPLY:

To register for a Submittable account, visit https://artinpublicplaces.submittable.com/submit on or after Thursday, September 15, 2016. Artists with an existing Submittable account, do not need to create a new one. For more information regarding registering on Submittable, eligibility criteria, artist selection process and the SFCC workshop schedule, please visit the SFCC information page

 

CALLS TO ARTISTS

Please be advised that the new online application system, Submittable, also will be used for all Calls to Artists from Miami-Dade Art in Public Places.

 

VISUAL AND MEDIA ARTISTS E-NEWLETTER

Artists are encouraged to sign up for the e-newsletter to stay informed regarding calls to artists, opportunities and resources. To join the email list, please sign up for the newsletter here and tick the box for Public Arts Registry.

 

Finally, I am delighted to share that Amanda Sanfilippo, has joined the team at the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs as Curator and Artist Manager. In addition to managing our Art in Public Places Programs, Amanda is the administrator for the SFCC Fellowship Program for Visual and Media Artists (amandas@miamidade.gov; 305-375-5436). Please join me in welcoming Amanda!
