Shuttered Venue Operators Grant Webinar

TOMORROW: Thursday, January 14 at 3:00 p.m.


The U.S. Small Business Administration will host a webinar to give a preliminary overview of the Shuttered Venue Operators Grant program included in the Economic Aid to Hard-Hit Small Businesses, Nonprofits, and Venues Act. Eligible organizations with a reduction in revenue due to the COVID-19 pandemic will have the opportunity to receive up to a $10 million grant under the program. In total, the Economic Aid Act allocates $15 billion for the Shuttered Venue Operators Grants.  

The webinar will provide introductory information about the grants, who can apply, how potential organizations can prepare, and additional details re: eligibility and applications.

Funding Arts Network Grant 2021-2022 ** Correction

Funding Arts Network is dedicated to the cultural enrichment of Miami-Dade County residents by providing funding for programs presented to the public by local visual and performing arts organizations. ** Correction: Applications must be received online and hard copy must be postmarked no later than January 25, 2021.

Grants for Arts Projects

First Deadline: February 11, 2021


The grants support arts projects that use the arts to unite and heal in response to current events; celebrate our creativity and cultural heritage; invite mutual respect for differing beliefs and values; and enrich humanity. Applicants may request cost share/matching grants ranging from $10,000 to $100,000.

New grant program guidelines are now available in the  Grants for Arts Projects  (GAP) category, with the first GAP deadline on February 11, 2021.

Actos de Confianza Open Call

Eastern United States Deadline: March 17, 2021


National Association of Latino Arts and Cultures announces an open call for Latinx artists, cultural workers, and arts organizations to apply for emergency grants through its Actos de Confianza relief efforts.  The first call will launch on January 13, 2021 for applicants in the Mid-America region; the second call will launch on March 3, 2021 for the Eastern United States and Puerto Rico; the third call will launch on April 28, 2021 for the Western United States. Guidelines and additional details  regarding the application process are available on the NALAC website.

Applicants need to reside in one of the following states or territories: Alabama, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Mississippi, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, Washington D.C., and Puerto Rico

FUNDING FOR INDIVIDUAL ARTISTS

Miami-Dade County Art in Public Places Artist Call


Alexander Orr Drinking Water Lab

Submission Deadline: Monday, February 15, 2021, 11:59 p.m.

Budget:  $65,000

Eligibility: Open to professional visual artists based in South Florida. Eligible artists create artwork on a regular basis for a duration of time in South Florida.

The Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department (WASD) has an existing Laboratory at the Alexander Orr Water Treatment Plant (AOWTP) for testing and sampling the quality of the Drinking Water in their distribution system. The selected artist(s) will design unique artwork(s) that will contribute to the identity of this facility and engage employees, visitors, and passers-by in unexpected and delightful ways. Americans for the Arts Webinar

Payroll Protection Program, EIDL Loans & Unemployment

Friday, January 15 at 2:00 p.m.


Arts Action Fund and Americans for the Arts will be presenting the first in a two-part free webinar series on the full range of federal economic aid opportunities in the $900 billion Covid-19 package, $1.4 trillion Omnibus Appropriations bill, and National Defense Authorization Act that were all enacted in late December. The first webinar will be on Friday, January 15th @ 2:00pm ET and will focus on the new Payroll Protection Program rules for a first and second draw/increase in loans and forgiveness, EIDL loans and advances, Pandemic Unemployment Assistance, and general appropriations updates. The two webinars will each feature unique content and will include expert speakers including attorney Sarah Mercer of Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck; Brigadier General Nolen Bivens (U.S. Army Ret.), Interim President and CEO of Americans for the Arts; and Narric Rome, the VP of Government Affairs and Arts Education at Americans for the Arts. New Shuttered Live Venue Operators and Talent Representatives available to nonprofit, for-profit, and government owned or operated performing arts venues and museums ($15 billion)
New Pandemic Unemployment Assistance for gig workers, W2 employees, and now “mixed earners”
New IRS Stimulus Checks of $600 per taxpayer (phasing incrementally out after $75,000 adjusted gross income) and $600 for each of the tax filer’s dependent children 17 years old and younger)
New expanded and extended charitable tax deductions for non-itemizers up to $300 per tax filer, instead of $300 per tax return. (ie- married, joint filers can deduct up to $600 now)
New retroactive and upcoming NEA and NEH grants that can be awarded for general operating support.
