The 2020-2021 MBVCA Tourism Advancement Program Guidelines are now available on the MBVCA's website. Please click here for more information. First Period pre-proposal conferences will be scheduled once the deadlines are officially released. A tentative Program Calendar is available within the individual grant guidelines. Please note dates are subject to change.
Organization may apply only once for any one project or event within a funding period. The funding period consists of First Period (Events taking place between October 1st and January 31st); Second Period (Events taking place between February 1st and May 31st), and Third Period (Events taking place between June 1st and September 30th).

Eligibility: Open to professional visual artists based in South Florida
Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs through its Art in Public Places Program and Miami-Dade County, PortMiami and Virgin Voyages request qualifications for artists to be considered to make full proposals for the new Terminal V at PortMiami. Opportunities for public art include a large-scale text-based artwork application to exterior north wall, a suspended lighting feature, integrated sculptural wall applications, and free-standing artist designed-planters for the terminal’s interior and exterior. The selected artist(s) will design a unique video or time-based media artwork and / or display system that will contribute to the identity of this facility and engage employees, visitors, and passers-by in unexpected and delightful ways. The Ellies, Miami’s Visual Arts Awards, is back for a third year! Oolite Arts is hosting an info session about The Ellies at 5:30 p.m. via Facebook Live.
Then, at 6 p.m., Karen Rifas and Edouard Duval-Carrie, the first winners of The Ellies’ Michael Richards Award, will discuss their careers and lives in Miami and beyond.

CERF+ COVID-19 Relief Grant
COVID-19 relief grant program for professional artists
First Deadline: July 29, 2020
As part of CERF+’s broader COVID-19 crisis response, it is launching a COVID-19 relief grant program for professional artists working in craft disciplines. This special program will provide one-time $1,000 grants to meet urgent food, housing, and/or health insecurities. Application opens July 8th. The grants will be awarded in two cycles: the deadline for the first round will be July 29, and the second will be September 9. Click here for eligibility and application details.

The 2020 Census is here, and data will impact our community for the next 10 years. The U.S. Census Bureau conducts this nationwide count to determine the number of people living in the United States, and everyone in your household should be included. It provides the basis for distributing billions of dollars in federal funding for hospitals, schools, roads, public works, reapportioning Congressional seats. Due to the widespread effect of COVID-19, the dates have been shifted and residents have more time to respond. You now have through October 31 to respond online, via phone or by mail.
