Join the Miami Emerging Arts Leaders for a virtual interview with arts advocate, community leader, and pioneer, Rosie Gordon-Wallace, Founder and Curator of the Diaspora Vibe Cultural Arts Incubator (DVCAI), with opening remarks by Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs Director Michael Spring. DVCAI serves as a local and global laboratory dedicated to promoting, nurturing, and cultivating the vision and diverse talents of emerging artists from the Caribbean Diaspora, artists of color, and immigrant artists.
Facilitated by Marialaura Leslie, Deputy Director, Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs, this interview will focus on cultural leadership, from Rosie Gordon-Wallace’s perspective as a longtime, respected leader in Miami’s arts community, followed by an interactive Q&A. We will be taking a look behind the scenes at the many opportunities to work in the nonprofit space as we ask questions including “What does it mean to truly support artists?” and “Are there hybrid ways to work together that will, and should, allow for different streams of funding for the arts?”
