Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs Announces Cultural Grants Program Deadlines for the 2018-2019 Spring Cycle

Grant application forms for five Department programs will be available as of March 12, 2018

The Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs has released guidelines and deadline schedules for the fiscal year 2018-2019 spring cycle of arts and cultural grants programs available to Miami-Dade County based non-profit cultural groups. Guidelines containing information regarding eligibility requirements, funding requests and other detailed program criteria can be downloaded at www.miamidadearts.org by clicking GRANTS / GRANTS FOR ORGANIZATIONS. Grant guidelines can also be requested by calling the Department of Cultural Affairs at (305) 375-4634, or via email at culture@miamidade.gov.

As of the spring 2018-2019 grant cycle, applicants will submit grant program applications and supporting documentation via the cloud-based, online grants management platform, SurveyMonkey Apply (formerly known as FluidReview). We anticipate the Department’s site on SurveyMonkey Apply will be available as of Monday, March 12, 2018. In anticipation of the launch, we strongly recommend interested applicants to the Major Cultural Institutions (MCI) Grants Program, Cultural Advancement (ADV) Grant Program, Cultural Development (CDG) Grant Program, Hannibal Cox, Jr. (HCJ) Grant Program and the Youth Arts Miami (YAM) Grant Program contact the Program Grant Administrator directly to set up a consultation, request a copy of the application questions, list of required support documentation and budget forms prior to March 12th.

ANNUAL OPERATING SUPPORT PROGRAMS

 

Major Cultural Institutions Grants Program (MCI)

Deadline:  April 5, 2018, 4 PM

Provides general operating support grants to fully professional institutions with year-round programs and annual fiscal operations specifically in Miami-Dade County that satisfy the eligibility requirements. The objective of this program is to help support the annual operations of and programming provided to the community by Miami-Dade’s largest, exemplary cultural organizations.

 

Cultural Advancement Grants Program (ADV)

Provides general operating support grants and technical assistance to a designated group of Miami-Dade County's mid to large size, artistically excellent and culturally diverse performing, and visual, literary and presenting arts organizations. Qualifying organizations are engaged year-round in the creation or presentation of art, within or across artistic fields and disciplines, and demonstrate the potential to achieve regional, national, or international visibility as evidenced by current artistic programs and management structure.

 

Cultural Development Grants Program (CDG)

Provides general operating support grants and technical assistance to a designated group of Miami-Dade County's mid-sized, artistically accomplished and culturally diverse performing, visual, literary and presenting arts organizations that are defining the cultural and artistic voice of Miami. Qualifying organizations are committed year-round to the creation or presentation of art, within or across artistic fields and disciplines, which demonstrate the potential to achieve regional, national, or international visibility as evidenced by current programs and management structure and many times engage in strategic partnerships for greater artistic success. Applicants to this program must have a total average of the prior two-year’s organizational budget of $250,000 or more. 

 

Hannibal Cox, Jr. Cultural Grants Program (HCJ)

Submission Deadline:  April 10, 2018, 4 PM

Provides general operating support grants to small and mid-sized, semi-professional and professional organizations whose primary mission is the year-round creation, presentation, exhibition or performance of cultural activities. Applicants to this program must have a total prior year’s organizational budgets of $100,000 and $250,000.

 

YOUTH ARTS PROGRAMS

 

Youth Arts Miami Grants Program (YAM)

Provides general operating support grants to non-profit youth arts organizations having a year-round presence in Miami-Dade County, whose primary mission is to create, present or exhibit cultural programs for and/or with children and youth. Applicants to this program must have at least a three (3) consecutive year track record of providing a year-round season of youth arts activities for children in Miami-Dade County.

 

Note:   Deadlines for the for the Department’s Capital Development (CAP) Grant Program, the Festivals and Special Events (FEST) Grant Program, the International Cultural Exchange (ICE) Grant Program and the Youth Arts Enrichment (YEP) Grant Program are now available at www.miamidadearts.org. The availability of the grant program’s application form will be announced in March 2018.

Applicants to these programs are required to schedule a pre-grant submission staff consultation. To schedule a staff consultations, contact the grant program administrator directly or visit the program specific page at www.miamidadearts.org/grants.
