An Instrumental Start - World Premiere Event

The Marshall L. Davis Sr. African Heritage Cultural Arts Center is being featured in the world premiere of An Instrumental Start: A Model for the Nation at the Miami Film Festival on Friday, April 10, 2026. The red carpet reception begins at 7:00 pm, followed by the film screening premiere at 8:00 pm. There will be a Q&A with the directors after the film. Red carpet attire is recommended.
The documentary, directed by Brian Bayerl and Michael Huter, highlights the transformative power of arts education and the Center’s impact on generations of young artists and the broader community. Featuring voices from alumni and arts leaders including Robert Battle, Tarell Alvin McCraney, Phylicia Rashad, and Savion Glover, the film showcases how community-based arts programs can inspire and empower future generations.

All Kids Included Family Arts Festival 2026

Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs and the Dennis C. Moss Center, with support from The Children’s Trust and The Taft Foundation, present the Annual All Kids Included (AKI) Family Arts Festival 20th Anniversary. The AKI Festival is a free multi-disciplinary community arts festival for children and families with and without disabilities. This festival features music and dance performances in addition to sensory inclusive main stage performances of Doodle Pop, resources for families, and more!
The All Kids Included Family Arts Festival is designed to be accessible, utilizing access technology and offering accommodations such as ASL interpretation, assistive listening, noise cancelling headsets, Closed Captions, Large Print, Braille, Audio Description, Sensory-Inclusive programs, and a Quiet Room.
Tickets for the AKI Festival are FREE and will be available starting April 4. Admission to all parts of the festival, is general admission and first come, first served.

The Joseph Caleb Auditorium launched its vibrant "Caleb Around Town" series with the Birth of Jazz concert on Friday, February 13 at the Joseph Caleb Center. The concert featured acclaimed, award-winning poet and spoken word artist Rebecca "Phoenix" Vaughns, paired with the soulful, groove-driven sound of The Harden Project, delivering an unforgettable lunchtime musical experience.
The Caleb Around Town series is designed to engage residents and build excitement ahead of the upcoming grand reopening of the Joseph Caleb Auditorium, spotlighting the local music and dance talent that will soon take center stage.

Tickets are now on sale for the next upcoming Caleb Around Town performance: Birth of Gospel Music in America on Sunday, July, 5, 2026 at 4:00 pm. This vibrant, live concert celebrates the roots and legacy of gospel. Honoring the Father of Gospel Music, Thomas A. Dorsey. Featuring Grammy-Nominated Johnny Sanders, Faith on Full Ensemble, Francine Ealey Murphy and storyteller Crystal Walker.
