I. Stanley Levine

A distinguished Miami attorney and civic leader whose impact on the arts, culture and historic preservation remains enduring, I. Stanley Levine was a passionate advocate for the role of the arts as a powerful driver of economic revitalization, cultural tourism, and improved quality of life. His lifelong dedication to these ideals helped shaped the cultural landscape of Miami-Dade County and the State of Florida. As Chairman Emeritus of Levine & Partners, P.A., Attorneys at Law, Levine balanced a successful legal career with an unwavering commitment to the arts. He played a pivotal role in the formation of Miami Beach’s iconic Art Deco District, the Miami Performing Arts Center (now Adrienne Arsht Center), and the Lincoln Road revitalization, overseeing a $20 million streetscape improvement project as Chairman of the Lincoln Road Partnership. Levine served as the Founding Director and Chairman Emeritus of the Concert Association of Florida in 1982 and, together with Ellie Schneiderman founded ArtSouth in 2000, serving as a catalyst for the revitalization of Downtown Historic Homestead. Levine served in key roles including as a Member of the statewide Florida Arts Council (2001–2005), the Miami Performing Arts Center Trust, the Homestead Main Street Organization, Citizens for Florida Arts, and Artz-N-The Hood in 1995. A Founding Member and Chairman Emeritus of the Miami Beach Cultural Arts Council, Levine previously served on the Miami Beach Visitor and Convention Authority from 1992-1997. Instrumental in the development of many cultural institutions, Levine held leadership positions with the Miami Design Preservation League, Miami City Ballet, South Florida Art Center (now Oolite), New World Symphony, and the Miami-Dade County Cultural Affairs Council (formerly the Arts & Science Council). His dedication to cultural tourism and economic revitalization left a lasting legacy, with his leadership significantly shaping the artistic and cultural identity of Miami-Dade County.
