About Artis—Naples
Artis—Naples hosts more than 300 concerts, performances, exhibitions and educational events for children and adults each year. Situated on a beautiful cultural campus that includes two performance halls, the 1425-seat Hayes Hall and 283-seat Daniels Pavilion, as well as The Baker Museum and the Toni Stabile Education building, Artis—Naples offers a broad array of artistic and educational opportunities to audiences of all ages, backgrounds, and interests.
Now in its 33rd season, the Naples Philharmonic was founded in 1982 and in its first season performed four concerts as a chamber orchestra. Since then, the ensemble has grown in scope, size and artistic impact and now performs over 140 orchestral and chamber concerts, as well as opera and ballet, education, community and special event concerts between September through June each year.
In 2014-15, Artis—Naples welcomes internationally renowned conductor Andrey Boreyko to his first season as the Naples Philharmonic Music Director. In 2009, Jack Everly was named Principal Pops Conductor and continues today in that role.
In his debut season Mr. Boreyko spotlights some of his longtime colleagues, including violinist Gidon Kramer, pianists Lilya Zilberstein and Jean-Yves Thibaudet and jazz composer and pianist Uri Caine. In addition, this season the orchestra performs with such international guest stars as The Beach Boys, six-time Tony Award-winner Audra McDonald, and trumpeter extraordinaire Chris Botti.
Celebrating its 15th Anniversary, The Baker Museum is one of the foremost fine arts museums in southwest Florida. The Museum hosts several traveling exhibitions annually to complement installations of works from its permanent collection of nearly 3,000 objects, focused on American modern and contemporary art. The facility includes 15 galleries encompassing 30,000 square-feet of exhibition space, a glass-dome conservatory, a resource room and a museum store. The museum’s entrance gates were designed by renowned metal artist Albert Paley.
Originally known as The Philharmonic Center for the Arts, the Center was renamed Artis—Naples in 2013 to reflect the array of performing and visual arts programs offered each year.
