POSITION SUMMARY:
The Membership Coordinator is responsible for managing MCM’s comprehensive membership program including the solicitation and retention of members at all levels.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Manage a comprehensive membership program, develop upgrade strategies to grow levels of giving, build MCM’s brand, create strategies to meet budget goals and to identify, cultivate, and steward new and existing members.
- Research and identify potential new sources to grow the museum membership, work within the community to promote membership program with other businesses and organizations.
- Solicit potential individual members through face-to-face, point-of-sales efforts, telemarketing, direct mail and on-site events.
- Lead member retention and renewal/upgrade/acquisition efforts using traditional and innovative fundraising methods.
- Create, promote and execute unique member events for exhibit openings and signature museum events
- Strategize and lead efforts with marketing department to develop membership promotions & material.
- In conjunction with the Manager of Guest Relations, create a membership training plan for DFI’s & Educators to maintain and implement incentive programs to encourage membership sales.
- Update and maintain member/donor database on Raiser's Edge
- Provide support to the Special Events & Development Manager to execute MCM’s gala auction Tasks include creating sponsorship letters and acknowledgements, keeping track of auction items, coordinating logistics of auction leading up to and day of event.
- Responsible for other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work with a wide variety of constituencies
- Ability to handle multiple projects and work independently
- Detail-oriented, with strong organizational, analytical, and planning skills
- Strong self-motivation and the ability to work in a team environment
- Experience with marketing and telemarketing efforts
- Proficiency in Raiser's Edge (or similar system) required
- Must be available to work evenings and weekends as required
