Reporting to the Managing Producer, this position assists in facilitating all events and activities for MDC Live Arts. This includes advancing show logistics and technical needs, on-site event management, producing reports, and acting as principle point of contact between MDC Live Arts, the artists and venues.

  • Advances show logistics and technical needs for all MDC Live Arts events which includes creating production schedules, securing equipment rentals, arranging hospitality, travel and lodging as well as overseeing ticketing
  • Acts as a liaison with artists, venues and related vendors
  • Manages the needs of artists while hosted by MDC Live Arts.
  • Ensures all needed paperwork is in place before events
  • Provides detailed information about MDC Live Arts events to the general public when including but not limited to answering calls and e-mails
  • Participates in programming, budgeting, and other meetings as required
  • Assists in developing and conducting evaluations of coordinated activities
  • Submits event reports and assists with event settlements
  • Assists with marketing of MDC Live Arts programs as needed
  • Assists with the preparation of grant final reports as needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Skills / Requirements

  • Bachelors degree from a regionally accredited institution and three (3) years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of best practices in performing arts management and technical theater
  • Possess an aptitude for event planning and excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills (both oral and written)
  • Excellent interpersonal and team-working skills
  • Ability to promote and maintain effective working relationships with a range of individuals and vendors
  • Ability to take initiative and work with minimal supervision
  • Excellent attention to customer service
  • Ability to problem solve in high pressure situations with a professional demeanor
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evening and weekend assignments
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other related computer programs
  • Ability to work well in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and staff
