YoungArts was established in 1981 by Lin and Ted Arison. YoungArts identifies the most accomplished young artists in the visual, literary and performing arts, and provides them with creative and professional development opportunities throughout their careers. Entrance into this prestigious organization starts with a highly competitive application process for talented artists ages 15–18, or grades 10–12, in the United States, that is judged by esteemed discipline-specific panels of artists through a rigorous blind adjudication process. General Summary:

The Associate Director of Artist Community + Partnerships occupies a management position within YoungArts and reports to the Artistic Director. The Associate Director of Artist Community + Partnerships will oversee and facilitate day-to-day operations related to artist community engagement and partnerships with cultural and community colleague organizations, while assisting the Artistic Director in maintaining the highest possible administrative, programming and production standards for YoungArts. The Associate Director of Artist Community + Partnerships is responsible for collaborative ideation & implementation of strategic partnership and artist community initiatives as set forth by the Artistic Director and providing leadership for the Artistic Programs team with development and delivery of programming and engagement activity.

Essential and Other Responsibilities - performs other duties as assigned:

-Assess, expand and deepen cultural and community partnerships nationwide that support artists at varying stages of their career, and are representative and in support of the organization’s core values and commitments to inclusivity and belonging -Support Artistic Director in developing innovative strategies for future direction and design of organizational cultural & community partnerships and programming relevant to needs of artists and the wider arts ecology -Oversee the design and reach of community endeavors for all YoungArts winners and extended artist community in collaboration with Artist Community + Data -Manager and in service to ongoing in-reach and engagement for regenerative artist community -Oversee artist community engagement in Advancement fundraising efforts and campaigns for Strategic Communications in collaboration with Programs Team -Effectively manage and provide leadership for manager-level staff within Programs Team with no less than two direct reports -Manage and utilize non-staff Artist Advisory Council in collaboration with Artist Community + Data Manager -Oversee contracts and budgeting processes in collaboration with Artistic Director and other Programs team members, maintaining accuracy for department-wide reporting -Work closely with Director of Productions to determine production needs for all artist community, organizational partner and campus program activities -Collaborate with Programs team to craft and conduct data evaluation with consistent measures for program impact and in-reach to Award Winner Community for bi-annual reporting -Work closely across departments to ensure the artistic vision is communicated clearly to internal and external audiences and stakeholders

Safety Responsibilities:
-Adhere to all policies pertaining to physical safety and security -Report any potential or actual violations to Security, HR team, the Executive Director or Board of Trustee as appropriate

Qualifications and Experience Requirements:

Key Relationships:

This position will work closely with all members of YoungArts staff, leaders of national cultural organizations and artists.  The position additionally has ongoing interactions with members of the local community and campus guests.

Education and/or Credentialing Requirements:

-Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in education and experience; Master’s degree preferred
-5+ years of progressive experience as a manager; significant experience
-5+ in the arts, philanthropic, non-profit, or higher-education
-5+ organization preferred

Working Conditions:

This position is located at YoungArts headquarters in Miami, FL. Work is currently performed in a hybrid (virtual and in-office) setting for safety precautions due to COVID-19. Typical operations take place in an office environment and/or in an event/venue setting.

YoungArts has instituted a mandatory COVID-19 vaccine policy for all employees. As a condition to employment, you are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and show proof of such vaccination, unless you have an approved exemption in accordance with applicable law.
