Now Accepting Submissions for the 2027 All Kids Included Student Art Showcase!

Celebrating the Power of Friendship Through the Arts

Calling all young artists! Submissions for the 2027 All Kids Included Student Art Showcase are now being accepted through February 1, 2027. Miami-Dade students of all abilities in grades Pre-K–12, are invited to participate. Students are invited to submit original art work depicting the showcase theme and are asked to draw on the showcases selected book for inspiration. 

This year's theme is inspired by the book, The Invisible Boy written by Trudy Ludwig.

A gentle story that teaches how small acts of kindness can help children feel included and allow them to flourish, from esteemed author and speaker Trudy Ludwig and acclaimed illustrator Patrice Barton.

A simple act of kindness can transform an invisible boy into a friend…

Meet Brian, the invisible boy. Nobody in class ever seems to notice him or think to include him in their group, game, or birthday party . . . until, that is, a new kid comes to class.

When Justin, the new boy, arrives, Brian is the first to make him feel welcome. And when Brian and Justin team up to work on a class project together, Brian finds a way to shine.

Student artists are asked to read the book for inspiration and depict the theme of Celebrating the Power of Friendship Through the Arts! 

There are multiple ways to submit your artwork submission:

  • Drop off at any Miami-Dade Public Library System branch.
  • Mail or hand-deliver it to the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs (111 NW 1 Street, Suite 625, Miami, FL 33128)  
  • Miami-Dade County Public School students can submit through art teacher or school art department 
  • Private school, charter school, homeschool, and virtual school students are welcome to participate and should submit their artwork independently by dropping of at any Miami-Dade Public Library System branch or mail/hand deliver to the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs (111 NW 1 Street, Suite 625, Miami, FL 33128)

The Student Art Showcase guidelines and required forms are available below for download and printing. Please complete all applicable forms and submit them with your artwork.

Showcase Awards & Exhibitions

 

AKI Art Showcase AWARDS:

Selected semi-finalists had their work exhibited and received a copy of the book, Maybe: A Story About the Endless Potential in All of Us.  In addition, semi-finalists were automatically entered into the AKI Student Art Showcase finals (see below).

1st, 2nd, 3rd place and honorable mention winners are selected from the semi-finalists for Pre-K, Elementary, Middle and High School levels to receive the prizes as outlined below, and to have their work exhibited.  A Grand Prize for "Best in Show" will also be chosen.  In addition, winning students will each receive a medal and an All Kids Included goody bag.

Art teachers submitting entries selected for 1st Place will each receive a $100 Blick Art Supply Card.
Art teacher submitting the entry selected for Best in Show will receive a $250 Blick Art Supply Card.
