The Dance/USA Host Programming Committee invites members of South Florida's dance community to apply to present their work at performance showcases scheduled during the 2015 Dance/USA Annual Conference in Miami, Florida, June 17-20, 2015.  The Colony Theatre in Miami Beach and The Light Box at Goldman Warehouse in Wynwood will serve as the showcase venues.

Dance/USA's Annual Conference brings together each year a broad cross-section of dance professionals -- artists, agents, executive directors, emerging artist leaders, managers and presenters - from all over the nation to discuss important issues challenging the field.  At the 2015 Conference, more than 500 dance professionals will gather for four days in Miami to network, attend performances, engage in creative conversations and participate in enriching training sessions.  Conference attendees come to ignite conversations, examine accessibility and opportunities, gain tools and practices and be inspired, together, to advance the art form of dance -- both in business and on stage!

Purpose:

To Showcase, before a national audience of dance professionals, some of the best of what South Florida’s diverse dance community has to offer.

Eligibility:

• Companies, individuals and institutions are all welcome to apply.
• Must either be an artist working, or a company/institution operating, in Palm Beach, Broward or Miami-Dade County.

The Work:

• Traditional and non-traditional work is encouraged.
• Work must contain a live component as part of the performance.
• The work submitted must be the work that will be performed.
• Works-in-progress are acceptable.
• Works may be up to 20 minutes in length.
• Only one work per applicant may be submitted.

Selection:

• Members of Dance/USA's Host Programming Committee will review the applications.
• The Host Programming Committee will select the works to be showcased and the venue at which the selected works will be showcased.

Deadline:

All applicants and supporting materials must be received no later than 4:00 p.m. (EST), January 19th, 2015.

Notifications:

• Works selected for the Showcases will be announced February 2016.

Other Information:

• An honorarium will be awarded to the selected applicants.
• The Showcase venues are the Colony Theatre and The Light Box at Goldman Warehouse.
• Minimal technical support will be provided.
