Animation Gets Real Miami 2024 is presented by the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs All Kids Included Initiative in partnership with Arts4All Florida, Arts for Learning/Miami, and Miami-Dade Public Library System, with funding from The Children's Trust and The Taft Foundation.

Explore the exciting world of animation and filmmaking as you learn real life skills, including:
Animation, Writing and Editing, Storyboarding, Sound Effects and iPad Music Making

WHO:  Students ages 13-22 with autism spectrum disorder and related disabilities who are able to follow instructions, independently communicate and participate in a group setting.

• Intermediate/Advanced:  June 24 - 28, 2024 | Via Zoom

  9:30 AM - 4:30 PM
  Week 1:  Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
  Week 2:  Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday (no class June 19)

• Intermediate/Advanced:  June 24 - 28, 2024
  9:30 AM - 4:15 PM
  Monday-Friday

ATTENDANCE:  On time arrival, consistent attendance and participation are required in this program!
Students must commit to the entire session.

Intermediate/Advanced (Virtual) Students will need:
• Access to a computer with a good Wi-Fi connection
• Paper & pencil
• Audio headsets
• iPad with GarageBand and ThumbJam apps installed

Intermediate/Advanced participants will be provided the Toon Boom animation software license, an iTunes gift card for the purchase of ThumbJam, and Zoom login link.  A lending program is available on a limited basis for those Intermediate/Advanced students needing to borrow an iPad or laptop.

Program Fees (non-refundable)*

• Session 1 - Beginners (in person):  $50
• Session 2 - Intermediated/Advanced (via Zoom):  $25

*Includes reduced enrollment for student/teacher ratios, AKI t-shirts, equipment/supplies, and culminating event:  a combined value of over $1,000!

Special thanks to The Children's Trust, The Taft Foundation, and Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs for their generous support of Animation Gets Real Miami, which has enabled us to significantly reduce program fees this summer!

Space is Limited to 30 Participants Per Session!  Registrations will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. Submitting a registration form does not guarantee a spot in the program.  Priority is given to Miami-Dade County residents.  Once program capacity is reached, individuals submitting registration forms will be placed on a waiting list.

Only registration forms that are fully completed and submitted with payment in full via PayPal will be accepted for enrollment.  Program registration fees are non-refundable.

Registration Deadline:  All registration forms must be received by May 17, 2024.  Payment must be made in full via PayPal to secure registration.

To Register: You must complete the registration form by the deadline date and submit payment in full via PayPal for each student participating in the program.  Registration confirmations with payment instructions will be sent out by email within approximately one week of submitting registration forms, in the order in which they were received.
