The All Kids Included (AKI) Family Arts Festival is presented annually as a FREE innovative, multidisciplinary community arts festival for children and families with and without disabilities at the South Miami-Dade Cultural Arts Center.
The All Kids Included Family Arts Festival was developed by the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs as part of its All Kids Included initiative. All Kids Included is made possible with the support of the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs and the Cultural Affairs Council, the Miami-Dade County Mayor and Board of County Commissioners, and in part through grant funding provided by The Children’s Trust. The Children’s Trust is a dedicated source of revenue established by voter referendum to improve the lives of children and families in Miami-Dade County.
This year, the 16th annual All Kids Included Field Trips and Festival includes both in-person and online features!
The theme for this year’s field trips/festival is inspired by the book, The Day You Begin by National Book Award winner Jacqueline Woodson, and two-time Pura Belpré Illustrator Award winner Rafael López. The Day You Begin is a poignant, yet heartening book about finding courage to connect with others, even when you feel scared and alone. Jacqueline Woodson's lyrical text and Rafael López's dazzling art reminds us that we all feel like outsiders sometimes-and how brave it is that we go forth anyway. And that sometimes, when we reach out and begin to share our stories, others will be happy to meet us halfway.
